Open-Source Licenses
The Volarra desktop application bundles third-party open-source software. The full license
texts and written offers for corresponding source code are also installed in the
licenses folder inside the application's installation directory.
Bundled components
.NET runtime (Microsoft)
Volarra ships a self-contained copy of the .NET runtime so it installs and runs with no prerequisites. The .NET runtime is distributed under the MIT License.
FFmpeg
Volarra bundles an unmodified FFmpeg executable and invokes it as a separate process for video export. This build of FFmpeg is licensed under the GPL v2 or later (it includes GPL components such as libx264). Because Volarra calls FFmpeg as an independent program rather than linking it, this does not affect the licensing of Volarra's own code. The corresponding source is available from the FFmpeg project and the BtbN FFmpeg-Builds distribution; a written offer for source accompanies the installed application.
GStreamer & GStreamer Editing Services
Volarra bundles a subset of the GStreamer runtime and GStreamer Editing Services to power smooth, live timeline preview. The bundled GStreamer core and plugins are licensed under the LGPL v2.1 or later. GStreamer is dynamically loaded and may be replaced by the user. GPL-licensed GStreamer plugins are excluded from the distribution. Source is available from the GStreamer project.
Third-party AI providers
Volarra is provider-agnostic and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any third-party AI provider, codec project, or service it can connect to or bundle. Those parties' own licenses, terms, billing, and privacy policies apply to your use of them.
