Privacy Policy
Effective June 21, 2026
Volarra is built on a simple principle: your work is yours. Volarra is a local-first desktop application that stores your projects on your own computer and does not run on Volarra-operated cloud infrastructure. We designed the product so that, by default, we collect as little information about you as possible — and this policy explains exactly what that means.
The short version
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information.
- The Volarra application stores your projects as ordinary files on your own machine or on storage you control. We do not upload or keep copies of your projects.
- You do not need to create a Volarra account to use the core editor.
- We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics that profile you, or cross-site cookies on this website.
- When you generate media through a third-party AI provider, you do so through your own provider account and credentials. That data goes to the provider you chose — not through us.
- Your provider credentials are stored in your operating system's secure credential store, never in project files or logs.
1. Scope
This policy covers two things: (a) the volarra.com website, and (b) the Volarra desktop application. Where the two differ, we say so explicitly.
2. The website (volarra.com)
This site is a static informational website. We aim to keep it as privacy-respecting as the product itself.
- No tracking cookies. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- No third-party ad/analytics profiling. We do not embed advertising networks or behavioral-profiling trackers.
- Hosting logs. The site is served by our hosting and content delivery provider (Cloudflare). Like virtually all web hosts, the provider may process standard, short-lived technical request data (such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL) to deliver the site securely and defend against abuse. This processing is governed by the provider's own privacy practices. We do not use this data to identify or profile individual visitors.
- Links to third parties. Pages may link to third-party sites (such as AI providers). Their privacy practices are their own.
3. The Volarra application
3.1 Your projects stay local
Volarra projects are stored as human-readable metadata and standard media files in a folder you choose, on your own computer or on storage you manage (for example, a network share or a mounted drive). Volarra does not provide, require, or upload your work to Volarra cloud storage. You can inspect, copy, move, back up, or delete your projects at any time using ordinary file tools, without Volarra.
3.2 No telemetry by default
Volarra is designed so that privacy-preserving choices are the defaults. Any optional diagnostic or crash-reporting features are presented as clearly labeled, off-by-default settings that you control, and we will tell you what they collect before you enable them. We do not silently transmit usage analytics about how you use the app.
3.3 Credentials and secrets
When you connect an AI provider, your API keys and credentials are stored using your operating system's secure credential storage (for example, Windows Credential Manager) — never in project files and never in plain-text settings. Application logs are designed to redact secrets and sensitive credentials.
3.4 Generation through third-party AI providers
Volarra is provider-agnostic. When you choose to generate a script, image, video, voice, or other media, the prompt text, reference media, and settings required for that request are sent directly from your computer to the AI provider you selected (for example, OpenAI, Google, Runway, Luma, and others), using your own account and credentials. Volarra acts as your tool for making that request; we do not operate a proxy that retains your prompts or generated media.
Volarra is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any third-party provider. Each provider's own terms, billing, model access, usage limits, and privacy policy apply to data you send to it. Before you generate, Volarra aims to make clear which assets and details will be sent to which provider so you can make an informed choice.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not build advertising profiles of you.
- We do not require you to store your media in a proprietary Volarra cloud.
- We do not use dark patterns, forced newsletters, or surprise data collection.
5. Information you choose to give us
If you contact us by email, or voluntarily provide your email address (for example, to ask a question or, in the future, to join a mailing list), we use that information only to respond to you or to provide what you requested. We do not add you to marketing lists without your consent, and you can ask us to delete your contact information at any time.
6. Data retention and your choices
Because your projects and credentials live on your own systems, you control their retention and deletion directly. For any limited information you send us (such as an email), you may request access to it or its deletion by contacting us at the address below.
7. Children's privacy
Volarra is intended for use by adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective” date above and post the revised policy on this page.
